Airy Delights - our annual show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

SCWE proudly announce the successful Scottish première of the sensational Cello Concerto by Friedrich Gulda [Austrian classical pianist turned jazz composer].
SCWE also honoured the anniversaries of composers Franz Liszt and Gustav Mahler by premiering a new arrangement by Jonathan West of the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 as well as  extracts from 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth) in the arrangement by Schoenberg/Riehn with Edward Hughes as soloist.
Michael Round adapted his very own arrangements of some of Debussy's piano Preludes to our chamber group.

Our Soloists

Thomas Carroll stepped in at the last minute as soloist for our injury stricken Johannes Oesterlee and received standing ovations from our Fringe audience for his performance of the Gulda Cello concerto!
Well done, and this was the first ever and very successful performance  of this piece on Scottish soil.
