Our Research Projects

The LCF works on a number of research projects. Participants come from legal academia and practice. They are based in jurisdictions all over the world. Some of our projects are interdisciplinary and are run by scholars from different academic disciplines. Our research has resulted in a number of publications.

The Future of the Commercial Contract in Scholarship and Law Reform

This project started in 2016 at the IALS Centre for Corporate and Financial Law. Contractual ICSID Arbitration Working Group

The Working Group explores the use of ICSID arbitration clauses in contracts between private investors and state parties. The enquiry draws on work previously undertaken at IALS and aims to combine academic, empirical and practical analysis in order to work towards a framework for the use of the ICSID system in contractual dispute resolution. The project aims to involve stakeholders from all stages of the investment and dispute settlement process.
